Mubert Launches Next-Generation AI Music API with Granular Stem Editing, Long-Form Generation, and Developer AI Skills

The new API enables developers, platforms, and creators to generate up to two-hour consistent tracks, edit individual stems, and integrate real-time AI-generated music into applications.

DOVER, Del. — Mubert, an AI music technology company specializing in real-time generative audio, has announced the launch of its updated Mubert API, introducing new capabilities for developers, game studios, AI agents, and user-generated content (UGC) platforms.

The new API enables users to treat generated music as an editable asset rather than a finished file. Developers can modify individual stems, including drums, bass, leads, synths, effects, and vocals, while maintaining the broader structure of a track.

The release follows Mubert’s reported milestone of more than 200 million tracks generated across its global ecosystem.

“This release is about giving builders true control over what they generate. Instead of forcing users to regenerate an entire track when they just want to swap a bassline or drum loop, our new engine lets you edit specific stems while keeping the track consistent.”

Alex Mubert, Founder of Mubert

Key Features of the New Mubert API

  • Stem editing and swapping: Developers can mute, replace, or re-render individual musical stems without regenerating the entire composition.
  • Consistent track structures: Users can control intros, main sections, drops, and outros across flexible timelines, with controls for key and BPM.
  • Long-form generation: The API supports soundtracks of up to two hours, extending from short jingles to longer background compositions.
  • Broad musical selection: Mubert offers hundreds of genres and more than 200 thematic channels.
  • Multimodal inputs: Developers can use text prompts, images, BPM targets, and activity parameters to generate customized audio.
  • Real-time playback: Mubert says its technology supports low-latency streaming with rapid buffering for interactive applications.
  • Developer-focused integration: The company is introducing command-line installation and integration with AI development workflows through its AI Skills package.

Mubert says the API is designed for applications ranging from gaming and video creation to live streaming, fitness, marketing automation, and other software products requiring dynamically generated audio.
